Here is a still image of the issue that I had with my 3D model. The character had bow shaped arms and it was affecting the technical aspect of the animation very heavily. I decided to remedy this by going back and remodelling elements of the character. I fixed the proportions of the arms and body and thinned out the armpits, bulking the arms slightly in the process. I then re rigged and re skinned the character and in my opinion it looks much better for it. I also decided to add a few more blendshapes. I then started to animate again and using the previous attempt at animation as a stable platform, I began to build on that in an attempt to make the animation much better.

Just noticed a small texturing issue on the right wrist here too which I will fix.
